Are cables supplied with the screen?
Does this product come with any cables, such as HDMI and USB to connect to the Pi. Also does the official Pi 7' screen 90degree USB cable fit this screen as a power supply and touchscreen control cable?
Colin Crowle
  • This comes with both HDMI and USB cables.

The 90 degree USB cable does not fit though I'm afraid.

Could I use a usb phone charger to power the screen rather the usb on the pi and would this screen work with retro pie
John
  • Yes, however the touch functionality would then not work.

The USB cable from the Pi to the screen provides both power to the screen, and touch functionality.

What is the most user friendly screen to buy for a 12 year old who received a Pi 3 for Christmas?
We have it coupled up to an old desktop screen but it is quite bulky, so wonder what you'd recommend. The Pi is used for practising coding.

Is it possible to wall mount the screen?
Is it possible to wall mount the screen?
Börje Malmgren
  • It's designed to hold the Raspberry Pi on the back of the case. However, if this is removed and mounted elsewhere you might be able to fix it to the wall.

Firmware & scaler
1. Does this LCD come with Rev 2.1 firmware? Or is it an older revision? 2. When driven by a HDMI source other than a Raspberry Pi, can it handle resolutions diferrent than it's panel's native. For example, can it scale down Full HD signal correctly?
HTPC
  • 1. We stock that latest, Rev2.1 versions.

    2. The screen does not handle any scaling, this needs to be done by the source.

Are there any cables that don't stick out everywhere? seems pointless to have a small screen but then have connectors and cables poking out
