The brains of a Raspberry Pi joined with the LEGO building system. The BrickPi breakout board takes your Raspberry Pi into the physical world, by allowing it to directly interact with LEGO!
BrickPi3 helps you do more with LEGO MINDSTORMS by connecting LEGO sensors and motors to the Raspberry Pi. The Base Kit includes one BrickPi board for connecting MINDSTORMS, an upgraded 6-sided acrylic case for attaching Lego technic bricks, and a battery power pack. Please Note/ Raspberry Pi sold separately. LEGO parts not included.
BrickPi3 is best for someone who already has LEGO MINDSTORMS sensors and motors. The BrickPi3 connects to the Raspberry Pi, and replaces the MINDSTORMS Brick (brain of Mindstorm system).
Is there any difference between the BrickPi3 Base Kit and the original BrickPi Base Kit
I purchased a BrickPi Base Kit a couple years ago from this site and I was wondering if it shares the same specifications as the BrickPi3 Base Kit? More specifically, I am wondering if any of the more recent Raspberry Pi models are compatible with the original BrickPi? At the time only the Raspberry Model B+ and 2 were available, so my original documentation is out of date and I find no mention of the original model I purchased on this site. Thank you.
The older BrickPi is still compatible with the Pi2 and the Pi3. There are some huge differences between the BP2 and BP3, in terms of performance especially around sensors.
Do you do, or can you recommend rechargeable Nimh battery packs that will work with the Brickpi.
I'm looking on building a robot utilising more that one BrickPi. I know that they can be stacked, but if using motor ports on the brickpi's they will need their own power supply. The 8 x aa battery packs are simply too big and I need a smaller, lighter rechargeable option.
