Need a motor for your project, but not sure which type to get? We stock a few different varieties on ModMyPi, so hopefully this rundown on the dif.. These standard 130 size DC motors are designed for simple continuous rotation projects. They feature a brushed DC motor, and are included in many standard gearboxes and educational toys.
These motors come with a slightly wider operating range than most toy motors: from 1.5 to 6VDC instead of 1.5-4.5V. This range makes them perfect for controlling with an Adafruit Motor Shield, or with an Arduino where you are more likely to have 5V available than a high current 3V setting. They'll fit in most electronics that already have 130-size motors installed.
