Compatible with all zeros?
Is this cluster hat compatible with the raspberry pi zero v1.3, and the raspberry pi zero w, or is it restricted to raspberry pi zero v1.2
Michael Dutton
  • It's compatible with both Pi Zero & Pi Zero W, but NOT if the header is soldered on

Can I use the individual zeroes while attached?
I wanted to set up a cluster of regular Pis and Zeros to use multiple HATs that have conflicting gpio pins all within the same system, would I be able to do that with this hat? Could some of the Zeros run displays or whatever and still be used like a normal Zero? Also if the host Pi is in it's own cluster will the Zeros be accessible to the rest of the network? Thanks!
  • No, a cluster is designed to act as a "single" computer, with specialised software designed to split up the CPU processing of a task across all zeros in the cluster.

Zero amounts to buy
I wish to buy this but when trying to buy 4 pi zero says lim. Is 1 from Australia 4 orders would cost to much in postage?
How powerful is it in comparison
I want a cluster to run n64 games better and faster so how much stronger is it and can you use it on retropie

  • That's not really how this Cluster HAT works. You don't get a single raspberry pi running with more CPU/RAM. You simply have the ability to access 4 different Pi's over a USB bridged network. Each Pi runs independently from each other, so you will need a special bit of software to "divide" up the work and send it to each Pi to be processed. This software will be very bespoke to the task you want to do.

How many Zeros can be connected?
Is it poissible to connect not all 4 but only 3 Zeros to the Cluster HAT?
Mikhail Vassilyevich
  • Yes, you can use 1-4 Pi Zeros with the Cluster HAT. You do not have to use the full 4.
