The Raspberry Pi debug clip from Ryanteck is a neat GPIO breakout board that performs the same function as your typical UART Debug cables, providing a direct serial terminal connection to your Raspberry Pi! One of the biggest advantages of using this instead of a cable is that the wiring is already done for you, so there's less chance of causing any issues to your Raspberry Pi.

The debug clip can also be stacked on-top of (or underneath!) other Raspberry Pi add-on's including HATs.  Simply push the debug clip onto your Raspberry Pi's GPIO pins and then push a HAT or another add-on on-top. The board only requires the first 26 pins of the Pi's GPIO, so it's compatible with all Raspberry Pi Models!. It actually only requires the two UART pins to be avaialble for use, making it compatible with almost all add-ons including the TrafficHAT and Motor Controller Board.

The serial terminal provided is a full linux terminal allowing you to do tasks such as setting up a wi-fi connection, fixing code on a headless device or even program full programs.

The debug clip can either power your Raspberry Pi via the USB port on your computer or if you remove the jumper you can then power the Pi from another method such as an external power supply or batteries.

For instructions and guides visit the documentation wiki. This board is unassembled, and requires some simple soldering to contruct.

Access to the Debug Clip is via a USB B port, so you will likely need a USB B to USB A cable. Cable not included.
