I have a Thunderborg installed in my Monsterborg robot. Rather than relying on batteries all the time while I am experimenting I would like to power the Pi from the mains adapter. However when I do this I notice that the LED on the Thunderborg lights up. Is this safe or could it damage the Pi?
As long as the Pi / ThunderBorg is not powered from the batteries (switched off or unplugged) at the same time it is perfectly fine to use a mains adaptor to power the Pi :)
The ThunderBorg will still work when the Pi is powered from the mains alone, but the motors will be unable to move. The LED will also work normally, but in power monitoring mode will always show red.
